Last night I visited Apostles NYC where my dear friend Kat attends church. It was a blessing to be there. We sang a song written by their former worship leader (I believe his name is Tom LoSchiavo).. it was a beautiful worship song and especially convicting. It reminded me that as a believer I should seek to be a light and should not be like every other impatient, short-tempered New Yorker. Especially during my morning and evening commutes, I tend to put on my tough New Yorker face. I’m called to love, to be different, to glorify Christ. Lord, help me to love as you love.
Here’s a portion of the lyrics:
“May we be stable, may we be steadfast
Not shift from the gospel we’ve heard
May we be in Him, rooted within Him
and flee from desires of this world
Let’s do what we’re called to do
We’re chosen to live the truth
As we walk the city, we will love
As we walk the city, we’ll speak love”
